Service Schedule

 

First Scheduled Maintenance: 2.25 hours


Because of their unique design features, Spring Models (FLSTS and FXSTS)

require first scheduled maintenance at 500 miles.

Other models require first scheduled maintenance at 1000 miles.

1. Change engine oil and filter

2. Inspect air cleaner and service as required

3. Change primary chaincase lubricant and clean magnetic drain plug,

check/adjust primary chain

4. Check clutch adjustment

5. Change transmission lubricant & clean the magnetic drain plug

6. Check and adjust drive belt

7. Lube the foot shift/brake lever bearings

8. Inspect brake pads and discs for wear

9. Check brake fluid reservoir levels and conditions

10. Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks

11. Lubricate: front brake hand lever, throttle control cables, throttle,

clutch control cable and hand lever, jiffy stand

12. Lubricate and adjust Springer steering hand bearings

13. Check, adjust operation of enrichener*

14. Inspect fuel valve*, lines and fitting for leaks

15. Check tire pressure and inspect tread

16. Check wheel spoke tightness

17. Check battery electrolyte level* and clean battery connections

18. Check operation of all electrical equipment and switches

19. Check cruise control disengage switch & components*

20. Adjust Springer Rocker bearings*

21. Check air suspension pressure operation and leakage

22. Check stabilizer links* and engine mounts

23. Check tightness of all critical fasteners: hand controls, brake system,

axle nuts, front fork components, riser and handle bar fasteners

24. Check engine idle speed adjustment

25. Road Test

26. Bike Wash

5,000 Mile Maintenance: 2.25 hours

5,000, 15,000, 25,000, 35,000, 45,000

1. Change engine oil and filter

2. Inspect air cleaner and service as required

3. Change primary chaincase lubricant and clean magnetic drain plug.

Check/adjust primary chain

4. Check clutch adjustment

5. Change transmission lubricant and clean the magnetic drain plug. Check/adjust

primary chain

6. Check and adjust belt

7. Lube the foot shift/brake lever bearings* & speedometer cable*

8. Lubricate the Springer steering head bearings

9. Inspect brake pads and discs for wear

10. Check brake fluid reservoir levels and conditions

11. Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks

12. Lubricate the following: front brake hand lever, throttle control cables,

throttle, clutch control cable and hand lever, jiffy stand

13. Check, adjust operation of enrichener

14. Inspect fuel valve*, lines and fittings for leaks

15. Check tire pressure and inspect tread

16. Check wheel spoke tightness*

17. Check battery electrolyte level* and clean battery connections

18. Check operation of all electrical equipment and switches

19. Check cruise control disengage switch & components*

20. Inspect spark plugs

21. Check air suspension pressure operation and leakage*

22. Check stabilizer links and engine mounts

23. Lubricate hinges, latches-fuel door, Tour Pak, saddlebags*

24. Check ignition timing and vacuum hose*

25. Check engine idle speed adjustment

26. Road Test

27. Bike Wash
